Manchester United have booked their place in the last 16 of the Europa League after a thrilling 2-1 victory over Barcelona at Old Trafford on Thursday night.

The Red Devils overturned a 1-0 deficit from the first leg in Spain, with goals from Fred and substitute Antony sealing a 4-3 aggregate triumph.

Barcelona took the lead in the 18th minute when Robert Lewandowski converted a penalty after Bruno Fernandes was adjudged to have fouled Alejandro Balde.

Manchester United dominated the second half, and Fred drew them level in the 47th minute with a powerful strike from outside the area.
